The Ball Tool is one of the most important tools to have on hand for any cake artist. Most commonly used for thinning out gum paste flower petals to provide thin & ruffled petal edges. It is also ideal for other flower modeling techniques such as cupping & shaping leaves. The small sized ball end is ideal for creating detail on fondant figures such as eye sockets, hands, and ears. To cup petals begin by placing them onto a foam or Jem pad. Position the ball tool as required & press firmly while sliding around the surface of the petal. To create a stronger shape, gently rotate the modeling tool in a circle.
