How do we ship your order?
CALJAVAONLINE has been shipping ready-made gum paste flowers and other cake decorating supplies worldwide for the last 25 years. All our flowers are packed very carefully, and due to the fragile nature of the products that we ship, we have developed a secure & safe gum paste flowers packaging.
PLEASE NOTE THAT AS WE ARE OPEN & FULFILLING ORDERS DURING THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC, OUR SHIPPING TIMES & WINDOWS HAVE CHANGED FOR THE TIME BEING.
We are currently open on Mondays and Thursdays from 9am-5pm PST. We are only shipping on Mondays and Thursdays. Please make any adjustments to your order to fit our shipping schedule and your time constraints. We ship with FedEx and USPS, both carriers have been experiencing delays due to the pandemic. Please be aware and make adjustments accordingly. We ship from our Northridge, California warehouse. There is no shipping on weekends. If the order is received on a Friday or over the weekend, it will be processed within the next 48 hours and shipped on the next 1-2 business days (see chart below).
Please make sure that you provide us with your physical address and not a PO Box address, as we do not ship to PO Box for domestic addresses.
Standard Ground Shipping
**Not valid for international customers; Hawaii, Alaska, Puerto Rico + APO/FPO addresses may require extra shipping on top of these charges.
*The Free Shipping is standard ground shipping and valid for ONLINE PURCHASES and Contiguous U.S.A. addresses ONLY (excludes APO/FPO addresses).
*All orders will be processed within 2-3 business days once order has been placed. Please see Processing & Delivery Time below for more info.
After you place your online order, feel free to either e-mail us at sales@caljavaonline or call us: (818) 718-2707 to request your expedited shipping quote. We offer next day air service, 2nd day air, or 3-day express shipping. To request a quote for expedited shipping before you place the order, please send us an e-mail with your order details (SKU#, Quantity), along with your shipping address. We'll get back to you promptly with your shipping quotes.
**Local Pick-up orders
For local pick up orders, most in-stock items are available for pick up within 24 hours. Once every item is ready for pick up, you will receive a Ready to Pickup Notification email and we'll hold your order within 5 business days. Orders not picked up within this time frame will subject to 10% restocking fee cancellation. If you'd like to request extension beyond this point, please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org with your order# and date of the order.
Processing & Delivery Time
After payment has been cleared (Credit Cards clear overnight, e-check payment usually take about 3-7 days to clear), all orders will be processed and shipped within 2-3 business days. Weekends & Public Holidays are not included). Estimated delivery time will take up to 7-10 business days for ground shipping (depending on destination). Although we are committed to ship your order promptly, please refer to the chart for reference during our busy season:
*Processing time may be extended due to high volume of orders during special sale events, such as Black Friday, Cyber Monday and ICES Sale. Please allow up to 7-10 business days period to receive your order. If you need your sale items to arrive earlier than our time frame, please contact us via email or call with your order number ready to discuss expedited shipping options.
Sold Out Items
Due to the high volume of orders, our inventory might not be up-to-date. Any out of stock / sold out item will be automatically refunded to the original payment.
We gladly ship internationally as we are committed to shipping the products quickly & at the lowest cost to you. We have shipped all over the world, and we'll be happy to assist you on special shipping request. Please understand the high costs to shipping internationally, including shipping to APO/FPO military addresses, which is based on the total dimensional weight of your package.
How to Place An International Order
Please email us your order and we'll follow up with you through email. We would need your complete info (full name, shipping address, phone number) and along with the quantity and SKU# (item code). After we receive your order, we'll send you an email with your sales quote complete with your shipping options. Please respond within 5 business days, so that we can send your PayPal invoice with your total purchase. Shortly after your invoice is paid, your order will be shipped out within 48 hours or less. You'll receive an email confirmation with your tracking numbers once your order has been completed.
Can I Get A Quote First?
Sure! Please e-mail us at Sales@CaljavaOnline.com with complete shipping address (city, postal code, country), and a brief message of what you'd like to order. We'll give you an estimate shipping cost and a few options based on the USPS international shipping rates. Estimated delivery time for USPS is within 3 - 14
All international orders will be automatically canceled if we do not receive your email response on shipping after 5 business days. - There will be some additional duty and tax fees at the arrival time, in which cannot be determined beforehand. International customers are liable to pay for these fees, which are usually billed from the shipping courier (FedEx, UPS or USPS) - We are not liable for any damaged & missing packages done by the courier. Please choose your shipping option wisely.

Why do my shipping charges seem high?
The short answer is because FedEx & UPS are now charging "Dimensional weight shipping" for all ground shipments. This causes a box with an actual weight of 10 lbs to have shipping charged as if the box weighed 23 or more. Our Gum-paste Flowers are very light in weight however are safely packaged which leads to the boxes being large. These items do not weigh a lot but the items are large & they take up a lot of space. "Dimensional Weight Shipping" calculates space rather than weight. Also for our customers who order Gum-paste Flowers along with FondX Fondant have their items shipped in separate boxes as a safety measure to ensure the items ordered arrive safely.
As of January 2015 FedEx & UPS have both implemented "Dimensional Weight Shipping"
Dimensional weight is the weight of a package based on its size rather than "actual weight". UPS and FedEx are implementing dim weight pricing in 2015 for their ground-based services and the heavier of actual weight or dim weight will be used to price packages.
To calculate, you will first determine the package dimensions in inches. For each package dimension, measure at the longest point, rounding each measurement to the nearest whole number (for example, 9.00 to 9.49 will be considered 9, and 9.50 to 9.99 will be considered 10).
Then, multiply the package length by the width by the height and divide by 166 (139 for packages headed to Canada). The result is the dimensional weight. For those services where dimensional weight is relevant, take the greater of this calculation or the actual, scale based weight to calculate the shipping cost.
Why are FedEx & UPS charging Dimensional Weight Shipping?
They want to be paid for the space that is occupied on their trucks and planes for big, lightweight packages.
