I love these smaller cake supports. Use to use straws but these are so much sturdier, I build my cakes with confidence! Easy to mark and cut.

I have used Coast plates & columns for at least 35 years! Nothing compares to them. I mark the top of the cake with setting the plate (with feet down) gently on top of the iced cake, then remove and attach the columns to the plate. Sometimes the columns can be a bit tight to fit onto the plate, but give it a slight twist while pushing it on and it should fit fine. Then holding the plate and columns over the cake, line up the columns with the markings you made earlier and slowly push down into the cake. The columns can be cut with a pipe cutter to whatever height you need. You will have the strongest and most secure cake ever.
